Make an impact by joining one of our committees

The Silver Valley Chamber manages a range of committees. These groups exist in an effort to better serve our members, to improve the local economy, and to allow a way for locals to be involved at the chamber because we value every resident's opinion. We invite you to get involved today by joining one or more of these committees. Volunteer, make a difference, and be involved in the local Silver Valley community!

Committee Overviews

  • Annual Chamber Auction Committee

Our Annual Chamber Auction is vital to the Chamber. This is a fun, lively, themed event. We host an evening filled with live music, great food, and a silent live auction. The proceeds from this event pay our Office Staff's annual salaries, keeps our Visitor's Center's doors open, and pays our annual bills. The committee for this event organizes details like where the event is hosted, what the theme is, gathers physical and monetary donations from Chamber Members and local entities, transports the donated goods to the event, and is at the event to help run the auction. If you want to lend a hand with one of the Chamber's most important nights of the year, then please join this committee. We will be forever grateful for your involvement in our success!

  • Bike Month Committee

Welcome to Bike City USA. Biking is one of the backbones of the Silver Valley's economy. From the Route of the Hiawatha, to the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes, and down our endless mountains, you'll find biking enthusiasts cycling through the Valley all summer long. Because of this, we decided to extend Bike Month's celebration. Not only do we encourage participation in the National Bike Month in May, but we extend our own events a month by hosting Silver Valley Bike Month events in June. These events are designed to get people on their bikes while promoting Chamber businesses. We host two events: Kids & Kickstands and Kegs & Kickstands. This committee helps organize business involvement, set up partnerships, plan the route, and helps with the events themselves on the days they happen. If you're a biker at heart - join this committee and share your love of biking with our community!

  • Hanging Baskets Committee

The Hanging Baskets Project is beautification initiative to help Kellogg bloom all over town. We partner with local business to hang gorgeous, bright, flower baskets all over town to help liven up our streets, storefronts, and sidewalks. Baskets have been hung for many years in a row, and we plan on continuing with this annual project. These seemingly simple flower baskets really do make a huge impact on Kellogg, and they are especially adored during our town's parades, markets, and other outdoor events. They make our community appear to be more welcoming, and our locals and businesses compliment them each year. We always need volunteers with trucks to help us install and remove these baskets. If you want to help make Kellogg more beautiful, this may be the committee for you.

  • Jackass Half Committee

The Jackass Half Marathon & 5k is the Silver Valley Chamber's newest event. 2020 is the debut year for our marathon, and it's so perfectly set up that anyone and their 3 year old niece could finish it. It's downhill the whole way. It's a short 13 miles from Wallace to Kellogg. The route along the greenbelt is so beautiful people will forget they are even working out. Our goal is to make this one of the funnest half marathons in the Northwest. We hope to get plenty of locals participating, and our very own Jackass mascot will be completing the race as well. If you love running, jackasses, half marathons, or our greenbelt please join our committee and help make the first year of this fundraiser a giant (ass) success!

  • Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee is one of our most influential committees. This group makes vital decisions on everything from our branding, our logo, our colors, how we decide to advertise, all the way to what events we decide to put on. Joining this committee is a big commitment and not for the faint of heart. We ask you to show up and to care - those are the actions and the expectations of the people currently serving, and we will continue this passion, heart, and mentality.

  • Silver Hoops Committee

The Silver Hoops 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament is one of the Chamber's most important events. This is both a community event and an event to bring in basketball lovers to the Valley from all over the Northwest. The process form this two day event go towards local youth groups. We always have Silver Hoops the last full weekend in July. This is one of the Chamber's biggest annual fundraisers. If you love basketball, we always need volunteers to help us organize brackets, lock in details, and be at the event to ensure it all goes to plan.

  • Silver Valley Market Committee

The Silver Valley Market (SV Market) is an artisan market that runs through the summer months on Thursday evenings from 5:00-8:00 PM. There is live music, 20+ vendors, a cornhole tournament, hundreds of market-goers, and various other fun events during this series. All of these incredible things don't magically happen, and that's where the SV Market Committee comes in. This committee takes on the planning for the entire series. They work to secure sponsors. They organize the live music schedule for our Free Summer Music series. Most importantly, they are physically at the events to help with vendor assistance, set up, and clean up. This committee is a good commitment in the summer, but it's well worth it to see all the joy and happiness during the SV Market. It's a lot of fun and we'd love for you to join!

  • Tree Lighting Festival Committee

When the most wonderful time of the year draws near, the Silver Valley Chamber hosts a Christmas Tree Lighting Festival, Parade, & Craft Fair throughout Kellogg. There is a large craft fair for local vendors to sell their goods and for shoppers to check off their shopping list. The event also falls on Shop Small Saturday, which is perfect because we get members and other local shops to promote local shopping. There is a parade that runs through Kellogg and ends at Silver Mountain, where there is a countdown to lighting a giant Christmas Tree and a fireworks display. This all day event is design to promote small business, give back to the local community, and bring people together during the holidays. If Christmas is also your favorite time of the year, you would be a perfect addition to this Committee. We need people to help manage the craft fair and to help with the parade line-up.

  • 4th of July Committee

Each Independence Day the Silver Valley celebrates with a Parade & Dance at the Kellogg City Park. This is a fun day event where locals and tourists alike join together to socialize, have fun, and enjoy our perfectly warm summer days and nights. The city pool opens up for free swimming, there are kids games, there is live music, a beer garden opens up, and Silver Mountain Resort ends the night with a gorgeous firework show. If you live for fun summer days and like expressing your patriotism, join this committee to help us plan and execute this event! You'll help us collaborate with members, organize the various events, and be around on the 4th to ensure it all goes smoothly.
